Kenyan content creator Thee Pluto has called on men to take active responsibility for their mental well-being, warning against the expectation that external help will arrive during difficult seasons.
In a video shared on Thursday, September 3, 2026, the digital creator reflected on a conversation with a friend regarding the divergent ways men and women process emotional trauma, such as breakups, divorce, and personal setbacks.
“Sometimes men tend to suffer more after something happens. You see, there is no one who comes to save them, not even the fellow men… As a man, always do. There will never be anyone, anybody who is coming to save you. So you have yourself.” — Thee Pluto
Thee Pluto emphasized that society often expects men to maintain a strong facade, which can leave them isolated and unable to navigate deep emotional distress. He urged his male audience to treat mental fortitude with the same dedication as physical fitness:
“Be in shape, and I’m not meaning physically. Be in shape mentally. Ensure at all times akili yako mazee inapiga, inapiga fiti.”
Warning of the risks of unaddressed trauma, the content creator noted that failing to check in on one’s mental state can quickly lead from emotional instability to severe depression. He concluded by encouraging men to proactively protect their mental health, build inner resilience, and seek support rather than suffering in silence.
