Kaizer Chiefs Reveal How Many Years Their New Star Has Signed For

Kaizer Chiefs have reportedly handed new signing Elias Mokwana a lucrative three-year contract following his arrival at Naturena, with further details of the agreement emerging after the Soweto giants officially confirmed his signing.

According to Soccer Laduma, the 27-year-old winger has committed his future to Amakhosi until 2029 after the club successfully completed negotiations for his services. Although Chiefs announced his arrival on Wednesday, the club did not reveal the length or financial details of his contract.

However, a source familiar with the negotiations has since disclosed that Mokwana has secured a three-year agreement, which is reportedly financially rewarding for the former Bafana Bafana international.

“It’s a three-year contract. It’s a lucrative deal for him,” a source with knowledge of the agreement told Soccer Laduma.

Despite the information emerging, neither Kaizer Chiefs nor the player’s representatives, Cream Sports Management, have publicly commented on the reported contractual details.

Mokwana’s arrival is expected to strengthen Chiefs’ attacking options as the club continues its efforts to build a competitive squad. The KwaMhlanga-born winger brings valuable experience and will be eager to establish himself as an important player under the technical team.

The new signing has also been allocated jersey number 14, which he will wear as he begins his latest chapter with the Soweto giants.

There is a possibility that supporters could see Mokwana make his debut when Chiefs face Siwelele in the Carling Knockout quarter-finals on Sunday, November 8, at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane. However, his availability will depend on his fitness and the technical team’s assessment.

Meanwhile, the winger will also be targeting a return to the Bafana Bafana setup. Mokwana has already represented South Africa 12 times, scoring twice.

His move to Naturena therefore presents an opportunity to revive his international ambitions while proving his value at one of South Africa’s biggest football clubs.
