
Kenya Power has announced scheduled electricity interruptions in parts of Nairobi, Trans Nzoia, Meru, Kwale and Mombasa counties as the utility company carries out planned maintenance on Tuesday, September 1, 2026.
Residents and businesses in the affected areas have been advised to make the necessary arrangements ahead of the scheduled outages.
In Nairobi, power interruptions will affect parts of Ngong Road and Kibera.
The areas listed for maintenance include Mita Road, Lenana School, Bee Keeping, The Booth Girls School, Racecourse, Wamburi Road, Mama Wahu Road, Santack Estate, Suna Estate, Amani Estate, BE Energy Dagoretti Corner, Show Ground, Pyany Kibera, KM and Lo-op Banks Ayany, Equity Bank Dagoretti Corner, Co-op Bank, parts of Talanta Stadium, Polo Club, Rowland Camp, Ngando, Askari Houses, Siku Close and Professional Centre, among other adjacent areas.
Kenya Power has also listed Kavole as another area scheduled for maintenance. The affected locations include Kavole Junction, Kavole Total Petrol Station, Kavole 1 Market, Kavole Police Station and Matupe.
In Trans Nzoia County, maintenance will affect the Mwisho Farm area.
The interruption is scheduled from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and will affect Mwisho Farm, Kapkal and surrounding customers.
Several areas in Meru County have also been listed for planned maintenance.
The affected locations include Mitunguu Market and Tulip Gardens, as well as Ruarai Coffee Factory and Karinidi Market.
Kinyaiti Market and Kinyaiti Primary School are also scheduled for an interruption, with the maintenance expected to run from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
In Kwale County, planned maintenance will affect parts of Diani and surrounding areas, including the Diani Beach Road area, Tiwi, Male, Naivas, Absa, Leisure, Diani Beach Hospital, Diani Reef, Jacaranda, Tiwi Beach, Amani Nomhani, Mlatuga, Ngomheni, Coast Calcium, Kwale, Mombasa, Ndavaya and adjacent customers.
Parts of Mombasa County will also experience an interruption, particularly around Shanzu and the Mombasa Port area.
The affected locations include China Bridge, Pundamillia, Shanzu Water, Shanzu Centre, Shimo La Tewa Borstal, Shimo La Tewa Staff Quarters, Shimo La Tewa Medical Centre, Shimo La Tewa Security Prison, Utange Village, Kipevu Port, Ziwani, Maweni, Coast General Hospital, Majaoni, Kwa Karisa Maitha Shopping Centre, Majaoni KIMS Bonge and Leads School, among other neighbouring customers.
