Ghana U-17 women’s coach Joe Nana Adarkwa says the Black Maidens are preparing for a difficult challenge against Argentina in the Round of 16 at the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco.
The two sides will meet on Wednesday at the Mohammed VI Football Academy in Rabat, with kick-off scheduled for 18:00 GMT.
Ghana head into the knockout fixture after recovering from a disappointing start to their campaign, which saw them lose 3-0 to Norway in their opening match.
The Black Maidens responded with an entertaining 3-3 draw against Brazil before securing a 2-0 victory over Canada in their final group game to finish top of Group C and advance to the last 16.
Despite their improved performances, Nana Adarkwa expects the challenge to become more demanding as the tournament progresses.

“Going forward, I know we are heading into difficult times,” he told Ghana FA Media.
“We are going to face tougher opposition, and we are going to work towards that,” he added.
Argentina, meanwhile, have impressed in their group campaign, securing top spot after a convincing 5-1 victory over hosts Morocco and a 2-0 win against New Zealand.
The South Americans will be aiming to maintain that momentum as they prepare for their first-ever appearance in the knockout stages of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.
Ghana, by contrast, have considerable experience at this level, having won bronze at the 2012 tournament. The Black Maidens will hope to draw on that history as they seek to progress to the quarter-finals.
