Veteran Nollywood actor, Yemi Solade, has revealed why he stopped attending church services more than a decade ago, saying restricting worship to a particular day limits his relationship with God.
The 66-year-old actor made the disclosure during a recent interview on Curiosity Made Me Ask, where he spoke about his faith, relationships and public perception.
Solade revealed that he has not attended a church service for 13 years, stressing that his decision does not mean he has abandoned his faith.
According to the actor, he believes his relationship with God should not be confined to Sundays or any specific day.

“God created me in His image. I stopped going to church 13 years ago because I was not finding it funny any longer. Though I am a child of God.
“My life is not orchestrated towards a particular day. There is no Sunday in the Bible. Without God, I will not be alive,” he said.
The veteran actor maintained that his faith remains central to his life despite his absence from formal church services.
“I know God too well. If you get close to me, you will know that God lives in me,” he said.
Solade also spoke about his personal relationships, describing himself as someone who prefers to maintain distance from intimate friendships while remaining connected with people generally.
“I do not have a friend. I do not roll with anybody, but I move with the world because God has instructed me to do that for myself,” he said.
The actor explained that although he is loved by many people and reciprocates the affection, he deliberately avoids deep intimacy with others.
“I am loved by a lot of people, and I love a lot of people. But I do not have intimacy with people. It is good for me,” he added.
Speaking about how the public perceives him, Solade said the attention and speculation surrounding his personality demonstrate that he remains relevant.
“You will only speculate. You have heard things about me; most of them are not true. If I am not important, people will not talk about me,” he said.
Solade, who has enjoyed a decades-long career in the Nigerian film industry, has featured in numerous Nollywood productions and remains a recognisable figure in the entertainment industry.
