Former Rivers State Governor and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has dismissed reports suggesting he plans to relocate to Rivers State.
Speaking during a media briefing in Abuja on Wednesday, Wike emphasised that he cannot rely solely on assurances from political allies in Abuja, so he aims to stay connected with constituents ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The Minister noted that he must regularly visit Rivers State to monitor political developments and ensure proper conduct.

He stressed the importance of active involvement in the current political climate, particularly in preventing former Vice President Atiku Abubakar from winning the presidential election.
“It’s not about relocating; it’s about coming home to engage with the people, communicate with them, and perform my duties effectively, not taking chances.”
