LAGOS — Primetime Reporters, a publication of Chisann Communications, has announced the nomination of a former National Publicity Secretary of the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders, NAGAFF, Mr. Stanley Ezenga, for the Maritime Advocacy and Professional Excellence Award 2026.
Ezenga is being honoured in recognition of his sustained contributions to the professionalisation of public communication within NAGAFF, his strong and constructive advocacy on behalf of freight forwarders in government policy formulation, and his consistent efforts towards promoting trade facilitation, operational efficiency and seamless cargo clearance at Nigeria’s seaports.
Speaking in Lagos on Thursday, the Managing Director and Editor-in-Chief of Primetime Reporters, Mr. Saint Augustine Nwadinamuo, said Ezenga’s efforts towards promoting compliance, professionalism and ethical standards among freight forwarders, as well as his support for legitimate government revenue initiatives and anti-smuggling measures, were among the key considerations in arriving at the nomination.
Nwadinamuo also highlighted Ezenga’s advocacy for the restoration and increased patronage of Nigerian seaports for cargo traffic, improved port infrastructure and more efficient port operations.
According to him, Ezenga’s advocacy against excessive, unjustified and questionable port charges has also contributed to ongoing industry conversations on reducing the cost of doing business and improving the competitiveness of Nigeria’s maritime sector.
He said:
“Equally noteworthy is his promotion of professionalism and international best practices within the freight-forwarding sector, his consistent engagement with the media, and his willingness to provide informed perspectives on issues affecting the maritime industry.
“As former Interim Administrator of the NAGAFF Murtala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA) Chapter, Ezenga’s efforts towards harmonising members and strengthening the association for credible and transparent chapter elections have also been taken into consideration.”
Nwadinamuo disclosed that Ezenga will be presented with the award at the forthcoming Primetime Reporters Annual Lecture and Awards, scheduled to hold on Thursday, October 15, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Rockview Hotels, GRA, Apapa, Lagos.
He noted that the Primetime Reporters Annual Lecture and Awards has, over the years, provided a platform for recognising individuals, organisations and institutions whose contributions have supported the growth and development of Nigeria’s maritime, logistics, transport and freight-forwarding sectors.
The 2026 edition, which marks the fifth edition of the annual event, will be held under the theme: “Smarter Gateways, Greener Logistics: Leveraging the Port Community System and National Single Window for Zero-Emission Trade.”
A former Director-General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Barr. Temisan Omatseye, will chair the event, while Dr. Charles Okorefe, a former lecturer at the Nigerian Maritime University, Okerenkoko, Delta State, will deliver the keynote lecture.
Other speakers expected at the event include the Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Dr. Abubakar Dantsoho; Director-General of NIMASA, Dr. Dayo Mobereola; Director-General of the Nigerian Ports Economic Regulatory Agency (NPERA), Barr. Pius Akutah; Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Blue Economy, Mr. Oluwadamilola Emmanuel; and National Coordinator of the National Single Window Secretariat, Mr. Tola Fakolade.
The Primetime Reporters boss called on government agencies, professional associations, corporate organisations, maritime stakeholders and individuals to partner with the media organisation towards the successful hosting of the 2026 Annual Lecture and Awards.
He disclosed that partnership opportunities include advertisement placements in the event brochure and other publicity materials, sponsorship of the entire programme or specific segments, as well as other mutually beneficial partnership arrangements.
