Ethereum price stands near $2,440, while XRP trades around $1.35 as hotter inflation weighs on cryptocurrencies. Pi’s upcoming Protocol 28 upgrade offers a potential catalyst for recovery toward $0.10 this week.

The dollar index reached an 18-month high after U.S. CPI inflation exceeded expectations. Markets now anticipate a more hawkish Federal Reserve, potentially restricting demand for speculative assets.

Pi Network has scheduled its Protocol 28 mainnet upgrade for October 16, according to the project’s official announcement. Node operators were instructed to update their software by October 13 before the network transition. The deadline has passed, placing attention on Friday’s planned activation and whether implementation proceeds smoothly.

BREAKING: The dollar index just hit a new 17-month high as US CPI inflation came in higher than expected.

The market is now expecting the Fed to be more hawkish. https://t.co/6P3FuCzubO

The team says Protocol 28 improves how the network manages delays in transaction data. It also allows developers to update multiple smart contracts together and modify stored information more safely. These changes may improve the technical base for applications, but it remains to be seen how widely these features will be adopted by developers.

If the token successfully activates, it will undoubtedly make its ecosystem more prominent, particularly following its period of weakness. Over time, more applications would be encouraged, and more would participate, due to the extra tools provided to developers. That result might help to build confidence, and any short-term price gain might rely on new market demand.

The PI coin traded at $0.07857 on October 14. The last candle was down 1.06% and the price of the token is near the $0.077 support. However, Pi Network price stayed under the $0.09 resistance level, and the bearish momentum made it easier to see the charts heading back towards the $0.10 recovery.

The RSI was weak at 37.10, which is below the neutral point of 50. The MACD line measured approximately -0.00078, below the signal line near -0.00071.

The Pi Network price places immediate support at $0.077, roughly 2% below the displayed price.

The positive side is that the $0.08 zone might be an early indicator that buyers are coming back. The next levels of resistance are at $0.09, and this would imply a possible profit of some 14% from $0.07857.

Breaking that threshold would put the chart’s $0.10 price goal within reach, which is approximately 27% above the current price.

The gain is what’s different, as the future Pi Network price outlook reveals a 25% increase over approximately $0.08005. If PI Network price can maintain support, break the $0.09 resistance level and develop more upward momentum, then it can rise to $0.10.
