Four Giants, One Crown: Beach Soccer Super 4 returns

The air inside the FUFA Stadium at Kadiba buzzed with electric anticipation as officials, partners, and media gathered for the official launch and draw of the 2026 Uganda Beach Soccer Super 4. But among all the formalities, one voice rang out with a clear and urgent challenge for the nation.

Stepping up, Uganda Beach Soccer Association Chairperson Deo Mutabazi looked ahead to the coastal battlegrounds and delivered a rallying cry that set the tone for the entire season.

“I call upon all Ugandans to come out in big numbers and witness the Uganda Beach Soccer Super Four,” Mutabazi urged the room, his passion evident. “Let us fill the venue, celebrate our players and teams, and give Beach Soccer the support it deserves.”

Mutabazi’s call for nationwide support echoes a broader sentiment of renewal sweeping through the sport. For too long, beach soccer has yearned for its authentic environment, and that wait is finally over.

“Beach Soccer is back on the beach, and we look forward to an exciting and memorable experience as the game returns to its natural setting,” beamed Julius Mutebi, UBSA Communications and Marketing Director, capturing the collective relief and joy of the fraternity.

The stage for this grand homecoming is set at the scenic and secure shores of Bunjako Beach. For Joseph Collins Ssemmanda, Director of Bunjako Beach, welcoming back the elite is a matter of immense pride.

“We have worked with UBSA before, and we are happy to host you again,” Ssemmanda shared, promising a world-class environment. “Bunjako is a safe sporting destination for athletes, and we host different sports.”

When the tournament kicks off on Sunday, September 20, 2026, it will serve as the ultimate curtain raiser, arriving just a week before the new league season commences on September 27. The tension is high, with four of the country’s absolute finest clubs locking horns in a ruthless knockout format.

The draws revealed a fiery opening slate, pitting St. Lawrence University BSC against MUBS BSC in what promises to be a tactical chess match on the sand, while Mutoola BSC prepares to lock horns with reigning giants Kampala City BSC, who carry the heavy target of defending both the Super 4 and Uganda Beach Soccer League crowns.
