“Before He Left for London…” Sifuna Recalls His Private Conversation With Oburu

Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has shared details of his last conversation with Siaya Senator Oburu Oginga, offering a personal account amid growing public interest in the veteran politician’s health.

Speaking in a video shared by Lightcast TV Kenya, Sifuna recalled that the last time he spoke to Oburu was while the ODM leader was in hospital before travelling to London.

“Mara ya mwisho niliongea na Oburu ni akiwa hospitalini kabla aende London, akanieleza alikuwa sawa na tukatakiana kila la heri!” Sifuna said, explaining that they exchanged good wishes during their conversation.

Sifuna’s remarks come at a time when Oburu’s health has attracted widespread attention, with Kenyans seeking reliable updates about his condition.

The senator’s account provides a glimpse into his personal interaction with the ODM leader, although it does not offer a detailed medical update.

His comments also highlight the concern surrounding Oburu’s recent hospital visits and temporary absence from active political engagements.

According to The Star, Oburu was admitted to Nairobi Hospital in early October, while party officials urged the public to avoid exaggerating reports about his condition.

ODM communications director Philip Etale also said Oburu had visited the hospital for a check-up and needed time to recover.

These developments have kept the veteran politician’s health in the public conversation.

Oburu had earlier travelled to the United Kingdom for medical examinations after consulting his doctors.

According to Daily Nation, his family said he was improving but remained in the UK while awaiting medical clearance to return home.

Sifuna’s account adds a personal dimension to the ongoing discussion about Oburu’s wellbeing.

As Kenyans follow developments, verified statements from the family and party officials remain important in separating confirmed information from online speculation.
