It Used To Take 45 Mins To Drive To My Village Under Obasanjo, But Now It Takes 5 Hours – Imasuagbon

Kenneth Imasuagbon has criticised the state of road infrastructure in Nigeria, comparing how long it took him to travel from Benin City to his village during former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s administration with the time required for the same journey today.

Imasuagbon made the observation during an interview on Arise News, where he discussed the ongoing crisis within the African Democratic Congress (ADC), the recent court judgment affecting the party and the state of governance in Nigeria.

Speaking about the condition of the country’s roads, the politician recalled that during Obasanjo’s administration, he could drive from Benin City to his village in approximately 45 minutes.

However, he said the same journey now takes about five hours to complete, using the difference to illustrate what he described as the deterioration of road infrastructure over the years.

He said: “It used to take 45 minutes to drive to my village under Obasanjo, but now it takes 5 hours.”

For Imasuagbon, the increase in travel time reflects the challenges Nigerians face due to poor infrastructure and raises questions about the government’s responsibility to provide functional roads for citizens.

His comments came during a broader discussion about the country’s political and economic situation. He also addressed the legal challenges facing the ADC, expressing confidence that the party would successfully challenge the recent judgment at the Court of Appeal and, if necessary, the Supreme Court.

The politician’s comparison highlights his dissatisfaction with the state of public infrastructure and his view that Nigerians deserve better road networks and improved public services.

His account of the travel time represents his personal experience and comparison of the journey under different administrations.
