Kwara North Monarchs Pledge Support For APC In 2027
Traditional rulers and political stakeholders in Kwara North Senatorial District have pledged to support All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates in the 2027 general elections.
The monarchs made the pledge at an engagement with political stakeholders in Bode Saadu, headquarters of Moro Local Government Area of Kwara State.
The meeting was convened by the Etsu Patigi, Alhaji Ibrahim Umar Bologi II, who is also the Vice Chairman of the Kwara State Traditional Council. It was attended by traditional rulers from the five local government areas in Kwara North, members of the State House of Assembly, council chairmen and other political stakeholders.
Speaking at the event, Bologi thanked President Bola Tinubu and Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for what he described as the fulfilment of promises made to Kwara North.
He also acknowledged the support of the Emir of Ilorin, Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, and traditional rulers from Kwara South.
Bologi said the emergence of the APC governorship candidate, Engr. Yakubu Danladi-Salihu, had strengthened the district’s sense of political representation ahead of the 2027 election.
He urged residents to support the APC and its candidates, including Tinubu, AbdulRazaq and Danladi-Salihu.
Other traditional rulers who spoke at the meeting also pledged support for the APC candidates in the forthcoming elections.
In his remarks, Danladi-Salihu thanked the traditional rulers and political stakeholders for their support, expressing confidence that Kwara North would deliver votes for the party.
He said the district deserved to produce the next governor of the state, drawing a comparison with Tinubu’s 2023 presidential campaign slogan, “Emi lo kan,” meaning “It is my turn.”
“I am not just contesting to be Governor of Kwara State; I want to be the Governor of Kwara State, and I will be the Governor,” he said.
