Morocco kicks off parliamentary election campaign with 27 parties in race

Morocco’s campaign for parliamentary elections kicked off Thursday, with 27 political parties vying for 395 seats in the House of Representatives ahead of a Sept. 23 vote, Anadolu reports. More than 15.8 million voters are registered for the elections, which will determine the makeup of the lower chamber of Parliament. Campaigning will continue until midnight Tuesday, Sept. 22, with voters heading to the polls the following day. According to official data, 15,801,162 voters were registered on electoral rolls as of July.
