The Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM) has described President Bola Tinubu’s 90-day cost-of-living relief plan as an attempt to subsidise hardship, saying it will not stop Nigerians from voting him out in the January general elections.
Reacting to the National Economic Council’s (NEC) 90-day relief plan for the high cost of living, the National Publicity Secretary of the APM, Abubakar Yusuf, said the proposal was a diversionary tactic.
“This is what we called diversional therapy against Nigerians. To resume fully and hardly after winning the January general elections. Nigerians have gone beyond this, no amount of immediate succor will stop them from removing President Tinubu,” Yusuf said.
He accused the Tinubu administration of inflicting hardship on Nigerians over the past three years through its policies and programmes.
“After three years of inhuman administration through decapitation and dilapidation of a well contrived government policies and programs you are now subsidizing hardships. ‘Kole work’,” he said.
The NEC plan, endorsed at its 161st meeting, is aimed at reducing the cost of living, improving food affordability and attracting investment across the country within 90 days.
But Yusuf said Nigerians had already seen through the plan and would not be swayed by short-term relief measures.
