The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has warned Nigerians against a fake online recruitment notice claiming that the commission is currently recruiting and training ad-hoc staff for the 2027 general election.
INEC issued the warning after its attention was drawn to a message circulating online asking members of the public to apply for recruitment and training as ad-hoc staff ahead of the 2027 general election.
The commission said the recruitment notice is false and did not originate from INEC.

INEC also clarified that the website link being circulated alongside the fake recruitment message is not an official recruitment portal of the electoral commission.
The commission urged members of the public not to click on the suspicious link, submit personal information, upload documents or make payments through the platform.
INEC said its official recruitment exercises and election-related announcements are published through its verified communication channels and official websites.
The commission advised Nigerians seeking authentic information about INEC recruitment and preparations for the 2027 general election to rely only on its official platforms.
INEC has previously warned members of the public about fraudulent websites and fake recruitment advertisements purportedly originating from the electoral body.
The commission therefore urged Nigerians to disregard the latest fake recruitment notice and refrain from sharing it further.
The warning comes as preparations gradually intensify ahead of the 2027 general election.
