Impala Rugby Club has announced a flagship Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative in partnership with the Earthlungs Reafforestation Foundation, taking action off the pitch to tackle environmental degradation along Kenya’s coastline.
Under the new collaboration, Impala Rugby players, management, and supporters will join Earthlungs field teams in Mombasa for a large-scale mangrove planting exercise aimed at restoring vital coastal ecosystems.
The campaign highlights the club’s growing commitment to climate change mitigation, biodiversity protection, and long-term environmental sustainability.
Speaking on the partnership, Brian Jarra emphasized that the values of the sport naturally extend into environmental leadership.
“Rugby teaches us teamwork, resilience, and responsibility,” said Jarra. “By planting mangroves with Earthlungs, we extend those values beyond the pitch to safeguard our environment for future generations.”
