
Getafe made a late final bid for Ghanaian midfielder Ibrahim Sulemana before Atalanta reached an agreement with Sassuolo for the 23-year-old, Ghanasoccernet can report.Sulemana will join Sassuolo on a season-long loan with an option for the Serie A club to make the move permanent at the end of the season.Getafe made their final approach as they attempted to beat Sassuolo to the Ghana international, but Atalanta had already decided to proceed with the Italian club.Sassuolo had faced competition from several clubs for Sulemana, including Torino and Turkish side Erzurumspor, who had also held talks over a possible deal.The Ghanaian midfielder will now remain in Italy and continue his career with Sassuolo, where he will look to secure regular playing time.Sulemana began his senior career with Hellas Verona before moving to Cagliari in 2023. He joined Atalanta in July 2024 and remains under contract with the club until June 2028.He spent parts of the 2025/26 season on loan at Bologna and Cagliari before returning to Atalanta.Despite Getafe's late final attempt to change the outcome, Atalanta have agreed terms with Sassuolo and Sulemana is set to complete his season-long loan move.
