A video showing the graduation of the Arujale-Ojima of Okeluse Kingdom in Ondo State, Oba Oloyede Adekoya Akinghare II, from Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD), has gone viral on social media.
The clips was posted on social media by TVC on Wednesday and has generated reactions from the public as many commentators took turns to congratulate the traditional ruler and wish him the required knowledge and wisdom to run the traditional affairs of his community.
Oba Akinghare II, widely recognised as one of the youngest traditional rulers in Yorubaland, graduated from the university’s College of Social and Management Sciences, marking another milestone in his academic journey.
The monarch ascended the throne in 2019 at the age of 16, attracting attention as one of the youngest traditional rulers in the region.
At the time he was enthroned in 2019 to succeed his late father, he was already in Senior secondary school planning to write the West African Examination Council Examination.
Despite the demand of his position as a royal father and community leader, he was reported to have been among the best students who sat for the external examination in the school at the time.
His graduation from the Afe Babalola University, Ado Ekiti has however drawn attention to his pursuit of academic advancement alongside his responsibilities as the traditional ruler of Okeluse Kingdom.
The development has also generated interest online, with the video of the monarch’s graduation circulating on social media.
