Recall that 3SC defeated CS Sfaxien 1-0 on Saturday at the MKO Abiola Sports Arena, Abeokuta, thanks to Lucky Emmanuel’s decisive goal in the 25th minute to give the Nigerian side a one-goal advantage heading to the second leg.
This continental appearance marks the club’s first return to African competition in 27 years.
In a statement issued on Sunday by the Commissioner for Information, Prince Dotun Oyelade, the gesture highlights the state’s backing for the team’s ongoing continental campaign.
The Commissioner said the government was determined not only to sustain the club’s current momentum but also to restore the old glory of the “Darling Club of Oyo State”.
