Ghana defender Ebenezer Kpozo begins new chapter with Humenne loan move

Ghanaian centre-back Ebenezer Kpozo has joined Slovakian club Humenne from Podbrezova on loan, beginning a new chapter in the 20-year-old defenders career.

Kpozos move was completed on 2 September 2026 and takes him from Slovakias top-flight Nike Liga to Humenne in the II. Liga. The loan runs until 30 June 2027, when he is scheduled to return to Podbrezova.

The 1.92m right-footed defender joined Podbrezova on a free transfer from Pohronie on 1 July 2026, shortly before making the switch to Humenne. His latest move therefore keeps him in Slovakia while providing a change of club and competition.

Kpozo had not made a senior appearance for Podbrezova in the 2026-27 Nike Liga campaign before his departure. He was listed among the clubs squad for six possible league matches but recorded no appearances, goals or assists.

The defender previously moved to Pohronie from FC Telavi on a free transfer on 28 January 2026. Before that, he had left Ghanaian club Agbogba FC for Georgias FC Telavi in February 2025, also without a transfer fee.

Kpozos arrival gives Humenne a Ghanaian defender with experience of moving between clubs in different European leagues, although his senior competitive playing record remains limited. His new club competes in the II. Liga, while Podbrezova plays in the Nike Liga, creating a clear change in the level of competition attached to his immediate club football.

Kpozo is valued at 75,000 and has joined Humenne with the agreement running through to 30 June 2027. The completed loan took effect on 2 September 2026.
