Okpebholo Appoints Festus Alenkhe Substantive Managing Director of EBS

BENIN CITY — Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has approved the appointment of Festus Alenkhe as the substantive Managing Director of the Edo Broadcasting Service (EBS).

The appointment, which takes immediate effect, was announced in a Government Special Announcement dated September 21, 2026, and signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor, Esq.

Alenkhe, who served as Acting Managing Director of EBS before his appointment, is an experienced broadcaster with a background in journalism, media practice and public service.

He previously served as Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Edo State Council, and Chairman of the Nigerian Red Cross, Edo State Branch.

According to the statement, Alenkhe demonstrated effective leadership and commitment to the development of EBS during his tenure as acting managing director.

The state government said his appointment underscored its commitment to strengthening the leadership and professional capacity of the broadcasting organisation to enhance service delivery to the people of Edo State.

The appointment formalises Alenkhe’s position as the head of the state-owned broadcasting service.
