Kenneth Okonkwo, the campaign spokesman for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, stated that the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential hopeful Peter Obi had a rare chance to become a great leader but wasted it.
Okonkwo, Nollywood veteran-turned-politician, made this remark during an interview on the Selah Meditate Podcast, where he was asked to evaluate President Bola Tinubu, Atiku Abubakar, and Peter Obi.
According to him, Nigerians had been willing to support Obi and grant him political power without the usual struggle associated with winning elective office.

He also pointed out that Obi’s political situation was unusual because, for the first time, Nigerians were willing to give a politician power without expecting the typical political incentives usually tied to elections.
“Peter Obi is a man who had the opportunity to be great and lost it himself. No system will give you an egg without breaking it. You can’t make an omelette without breaking an egg,” he said.
He added that Obi needed to make significant sacrifices to secure and maintain the opportunity Nigerians offered him.
“He’s a man that God and living people would have loved to give what he wants, but he must make the necessary sacrifices, whatever they may be, to hold onto that free gift,” Okonkwo explained.
