Afro-Arab Properties pledges support for Mahama’s affordable housing agenda
The Chief Executive Officer of Afro-Arab Properties, Alhaji Salamu Amadu, has pledged the company’s support for President John Dramani Mahama’s efforts to expand affordable housing across Ghana.

The Chief Executive Officer of Afro-Arab Properties, Alhaji Salamu Amadu, has pledged the company’s support for President John Dramani Mahama’s efforts to expand affordable housing across Ghana.
He made the commitment at the recently concluded National Homeownership Conference, during which President Mahama visited the company’s exhibition stand.
Alhaji Amadu said Afro-Arab Properties was prepared to increase its investment in affordable housing and collaborate with the government to help the President realise his ambition of becoming known as “John the Builder”.
“Mr President, if your wish is to become John the Builder, I am ready to help you build. Afro-Arab Properties has a vision to build 200,000 homes across Ghana by 2050,” he said.
“With the government’s district housing programme and the right partnership between government and the private sector, I believe we can achieve this vision much faster.”
He maintained that integrating the company’s affordable housing model with the government’s district housing initiative could significantly increase access to decent homes for ordinary Ghanaians.
According to him, Afro-Arab Properties is ready to collaborate with the government, financial institutions, development partners and other private-sector actors to accelerate housing delivery nationwide.
The company said President Mahama welcomed the proposal and indicated the government’s readiness to support credible private-sector initiatives that broaden access to affordable homes.
Afro-Arab Properties operates a low-entry payment model intended to reduce the financial barriers confronting prospective homeowners.
Under the arrangement, qualified buyers may make a minimum initial payment and settle the outstanding amount over five years without interest, subject to the terms governing each development.
Alhaji Amadu said the financing structure was designed for working families who might struggle to raise substantial lump sums or meet conventional mortgage requirements.
The company plans to extend its affordable housing developments to more parts of Ghana as it pursues its target of delivering 200,000 sustainable homes by 2050.
Its housing vision is promoted under the message, “Everyone Can Buy a House”, while its environmental commitment is reflected in the philosophy, “Afro-Arab is Green.”
