Chelsea have reportedly generated a world-record £519 million from player sales and loan fees during the summer transfer window, eclipsing the amount spent on their incoming deals.
The Blues signed 10 first-team players for a combined £328m, while their outgoing business has left them with a reported net spend of minus £120m.
The figures represent an extraordinary turnaround in Chelsea’s transfer balance and underline the scale of the club’s player-trading operation.
Their biggest permanent departure was Enzo Fernandez’s £125m move to Manchester City. The transfer also makes Chelsea the first club to record a profit on the sale of a player who originally cost more than £100m.
Other significant departures included Nicolas Jackson, who joined Aston Villa for £65m, while Marc Cucurella was sold for a fee in the region of £51.8m.
Liam Delap and Andrey Santos also left for £50m each, while Trevoh Chalobah moved to Como for approximately £30m.
Tyrique George completed a permanent move to Everton for £24m.
Chelsea’s latest transfer business continues the club’s aggressive approach to squad building and player trading, with substantial revenues from departures helping to offset their considerable expenditure on new signings.
