Gauteng school admissions move to placement stage after applications close

Gauteng’s 2027 online school admissions process is moving into the placement phase after applications for Grade 1 and Grade 8 closed on Friday.

Education MEC Lebogang Maile is expected to brief parents on the next steps in the process, including how the provincial department will allocate places to applicants.

The application window opened on 5 August and covered learners seeking places in public schools for the 2027 academic year. eNCA reported on Sunday that the MEC would provide an update after the closure of the online system.
