Louis Page was linked with a late transfer to Manchester United on deadline day before starring in Leicester City’s 2-0 win over Plymouth Argyle.
Manchester United held talks over a deal for Louis Page with Leicester City on transfer deadline day.
Although it felt like progress was being made on a deal, the 18-year-old will remain at Leicester City for the foreseeable future, after enjoying a breakthrough campaign in the Championship last term.
Page could’ve become the latest player to join United from League One. That door may open in January if the midfield ace continues to impress for the Foxes.

It says a lot about a young footballer, aged 18, who can go out on the pitch and perform as well as Page did tonight after coming so close to signing for United.
According to The Athletic, United and Leicester had been in talks over a deal worth more than £10m, with Leicester thought to be looking for £12m rising to a potential £15m.
In turn, Page would have been loaned back to the King Power Stadium for the campaign to gain more experience at the senior level.
When Russell Martin named Page in his starting line-up to face Plymouth Argyle, it became clear that the youngster would not be signing for United on deadline day.
Page was Futmob’s man of the match with a rating of 8.3/10, after creating the joint-most chances throughout the match. He also registered an assist as Leicester City’s creative spark in the middle of the pitch.
Touching the ball 88 times, Page had an 83% pass success rate. He took five corners and was dispossessed just twice.
United may not have signed Page on deadline day, but if he continues starring in games for Leicester City, there’s every chance that they will return with interest in January.
It would have come as a huge blow – late in the window – for Leicester City if they lost Page without him returning on a season-long loan.
Page is a key player in Martin’s midfield, and they will be reliant on his creativity to win matches in League One this season.
Leicester City currently have five points from four matches in League One.
