Nigerian comedian and actor, Ayo Makun, popularly known as AY, has shared his experience riding in a driverless Uber vehicle in Atlanta, United States.
The entertainer shared the experience on Sunday through his official Instagram account while celebrating his birthday.
In a video accompanying his post, AY was seen inside an apparently empty vehicle as it drove through the city without a human driver.

The comedian said he unlocked the vehicle and started the ride using his phone, describing the experience as a demonstration of the advancement of technology.
“I entered Uber in Atlanta… na Jaguar, but driver no dey! Oyibo don use technology make motor drive itself,” AY wrote.
He jokingly contrasted the technological development he witnessed in the United States with what he described as traditional practices in Africa.
In the video, the comedian repeatedly expressed amazement that the vehicle was driving itself while he sat inside the car alone.
“See, na the car dey drive himself. Na my Uber be this. E dey carry me they go. Dem don tell una say they no be una mate,” he said.
AY also showed how he used his phone to unlock the vehicle and begin the journey.
“I unlocked the car with my phone. Start the ride with my phone. And here we go. On my birthday. So we’re arriving in four minutes, basically. All by myself. No driver. Arriving in four minutes,” he said.
One Instagram user, #mr_anuel_, warned the comedian to be careful, writing, “Baami be careful oo.”
Another follower, #ololade_omolade_daramola, jokingly suggested that such technology would be viewed differently in Africa because of the continent’s association with traditional beliefs.
Other users also joined the conversation with humorous comments about the driverless vehicle.
