DODOMA: REGISTERED procurement and supplies professionals with outstanding annual fees have been given 30 days to clear their debts or risk having their registration cancelled by the Procurement and Supplies Professionals and Technicians Board (PSPTB).
Speaking to journalists in Dodoma yesterday, PSPTB Executive Director Godfred Mbanyi said failure to comply with the directive would result in immediate deregistration, with the names of affected professionals published on the Board’s website and in the Government Gazette.
“Failure to comply with this directive will result in immediate cancellation of your registration, and your names will be officially published on the PSPTB website and in the Government Gazette,” he said.
Mr Mbanyi said further legal action, including prosecution, could be taken against professionals who continued to default in accordance with the law establishing the Board.
He further said the Board had deregistered 47 procurement and supplies professionals for failing to pay their annual registration fees for 24 consecutive months.
He said the affected professionals had consequently lost their registration status and their names had been removed from the Board’s official register.

Mr Mbanyi said under PSPTB regulations, including Government Notice No. 364 of 2009, and other provisions of the PSPTB Act, every registered professional was legally required to pay an annual fee prescribed by the Board.
He said the Board had exclusive powers under Section 7(g) of the PSPTB Act to register qualified professionals and grant them legal authority to practise in the procurement and supplies profession.
“No person who is not officially registered under this law has the legal authority to participate in or perform procurement and supplies functions,” he said.
Mr Mbanyi warned that anyone continuing to practise or present themselves as a procurement and supplies professional without valid PSPTB registration would be committing a criminal offence and could face legal and disciplinary action.
The PSPTB, which operates under the Ministry of Finance, regulates professional standards, conduct and ethics in the procurement and supplies profession across the country.
