Formula One 2026: What time is Saturday’s Azerbaijan Grand Prix in Baku?

The 2026 Formula One season will feature **23 **races, the 15th of which will take place in **Azerbaijan **this weekend.

The season was originally scheduled to have 24 races, but the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix was postponed following the outbreak of the United States-Iran war.

The next battle for the title is scheduled for the Baku City Circuit on Saturday, 26 September.

The lights will go out at 13:00 (SA time).

Change in date

Note the change in race day – from Sunday to Saturday – due to Sunday being Remembrance Day in Azerbaijan, observed annually on 27 September. It commemorates those who died during the Second Nagorno Karabagh war, otherwise known as The Patriotic War.

Lando Norris is the defending Formula One drivers’ champion while **McLaren **are the reigning constructors’ title winners.

As a reminder, last year’s Azerbaijan Grand Prix was won by Red Bull’s Max Verstappen, with Mercedes’ George Russell in second and Williams’ Carlos Sainz in third place.
