Speaker Koon Hails Guinea Parliament Project

CAPITOL HILL, Monrovia, October 7, 2026 — House Speaker Richard Nagbe Koon has toured Guinea’s new parliamentary building in Conakry, commending the country’s National Assembly leadership for progress on the project.

The tour formed part of Koon’s official visit to Guinea to attend the opening of the National Assembly’s 2026–2027 parliamentary year.

During the tour, Koon inspected sections of the parliamentary complex and ongoing construction works intended to provide a modern facility for legislative activities.

He praised National Assembly President Dr. Dansa Kourouma and the Guinean parliamentary leadership for progress made on the project, describing it as an investment in strengthening the Legislature’s institutional capacity.

Koon said modern parliamentary infrastructure can support lawmakers, improve public engagement and strengthen legislative institutions in carrying out their constitutional responsibilities.

He expressed optimism that the complex, when completed, would enhance the work of Guinea’s National Assembly.

The visit also provided an opportunity for Liberian and Guinean lawmakers to exchange experiences on parliamentary modernization, institutional development and legislative administration.

Koon is in Conakry at the invitation of the President of Guinea’s National Assembly for activities marking the opening of the 2026–2027 parliamentary session.
