Tynan Thompson putting Rashford on notice and Carrick has a new jewel in his teammate vs Como U20s

**Manchester United’s academy stars fell to Como U20s in their third game of the UEFA Youth League, but Michael Carrick found two exciting talents in the process. **
The 2-1 loss against Como U20s leaves Man Utd U19s with just one win in their first three games, but this was far from a poor performance.
Tynan Thompson was electric during the game where Jack Fletcher scored, but Michael Carrick actually found a new jewel in a third prospect.
Even coming off the bench, his quality is undeniable, and as Thompson puts Marcus Rashford on notice, that new jewel could supersede them all.
Tynan Thompson puts Marcus Rashford on notice
Carrick fancied Rashford early in the season because he is one of the few players in the team who can beat opponents off the dribble.
Ultimately, his work rate off the ball forced Carrick to drop him, and then he picked up an injury to completely halt his momentum.
United continue to look for a chaos creator on that left wing who also works hard off the ball, so Thompson’s performance against Como U20s comes at the perfect time.
The standard of football is different, that goes without saying, but what Thompson showed against Como U20s is entirely transferable to senior football.
He had the desire to take on the defence with the ball at his feet, not afraid to isolate his opponent, and kept trying even when he was stopped in his tracks.
Moreover, he ran back to help Jacob Watson in defence every time Como made forays forward, which is a part of his game he’s working hard to improve.
Thompson also looks more physically ready as he has filled up his frame without losing his explosiveness. These are all exciting developments, but the most exciting one might have nothing to do with him.
Jaume Camacho is Carrick’s new jewel
Jaume Camacho has been fast-tracked by United rapidly after just four U18s games, and coming off the bench against Como, he showed exactly why.
The youngster is a tricky customer with the ball at his feet, but he truly comes alive with his intelligence off the ball.
His understanding of pressing triggers and passing lanes is already at a senior level, and he fashioned various chances in his cameo just by pressing the right man at the right time.
Camacho is a technician on the ball, as evidenced by his assists at both the U18s and the U21s level, and by adding strong off-the-ball game, he will make Carrick’s decision to promote him even easier.
This is a player who is developing rapidly and exceeding expectations. Don’t be surprised to see him make senior squads by the time this season ends.
