NPP Communicator Drops Bombshell: NDC Has Proven Ntim Fordjour Right on Drug Trafficking Claims

A member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Communications Team, Ishaq Ibrahim Esq., has launched a fierce attack on the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), claiming recent security lapses validate earlier warnings that Ghana is becoming a major transit hub for international narcotics trafficking.

According to recent reports, Speaking to the press on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, Ibrahim argued that emerging reports of illicit drug movements through Ghana’s ports prove the accuracy of warnings previously sounded by former Assin South Member of Parliament, Rev. John Ntim Fordjour.

“The NDC has finally proven Rev. Ntim Fordjour right in his assertion that Ghana is actively becoming a transit hub for drug trafficking,” Ibrahim stated, insisting that the former lawmaker’s warnings were unjustifiably dismissed by government officials at the time.

The opposition communicator argued that recent cross-border narcotics incidents raise serious doubts about the administration’s resolve to combat organized crime, secure international gateways, and protect Ghana’s global diplomatic reputation. He called on state security agencies and port authorities to tighten surveillance across entry points to prevent transnational cartels from exploiting operational loopholes.

The political feud comes amid heightened national scrutiny following recent high-profile drug operations, with opposition figures demanding greater transparency and accountability from enforcement agencies. The NPP maintains that the current administration has failed to implement robust border security strategies to halt the flow of illegal narcotics.

While government representatives maintain that anti-narcotics agencies continue to collaborate effectively with international law enforcement partners, Ibrahim’s comments have reignited fierce political debate over national security leadership. As the political rhetoric intensifies, political analysts and civil society leaders are urging the government to strengthen intelligence gathering and reassure the public of its commitment to safeguarding the nation’s borders.
