Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), key drivers of employment in Namibia, will have a chance to attract new customers, foster business partnerships, and enter emerging markets at the upcoming second Business Enhancement Exhibition in Outapi next month.
The exhibition, scheduled for 3 and 4 October at the O’Zodiac Star Pension Hotel, aims to gather entrepreneurs, business leaders, industry experts, and the public to promote the development of local businesses.
SMEs play an important role in Namibia’s economy. Government estimates indicate that the sector contributes about 12% to the country’s gross domestic product (GDP) and employs more than 200 000 people. However, many small businesses continue to face challenges, including limited access to markets, finance and business opportunities.
Organiser Zenao Andowa said the exhibition aims to provide entrepreneurs with practical opportunities to grow their businesses.
“This exhibition is designed to leave entrepreneurs and SMEs with more than just exposure. Participants will walk away with new relationships, fresh ideas, new customers and meaningful opportunities to help strengthen and grow their businesses,” she said.
Andowa said entrepreneurs need platforms where they can meet customers, promote their products and learn from other business owners.
“Growth does not happen in isolation; it happens when people are given opportunities to be seen, heard, connect and be empowered,” she
said.
The exhibition will showcase product and service displays, include networking sessions, and host discussions on business development. Additionally, experts will deliver talks on digitalisation, artificial intelligence, branding, marketing, and communication.
The sessions will also give entrepreneurs practical information they can use to improve their businesses and reach more customers.
The exhibition has appointed Izzy Cranes founder Isai Haishonga as its official patron. Haishonga, from Ombalantu in the Omusati Region, was recognised for his contributions to entrepreneurship and his support for business development in the
region.
Guest speakers include Ilke Platt, founder of Poiyah Media, whose agency received the PMR Diamond Arrow Award, and digital transformation specialist Georgina Kozmon, who will speak on technology and business growth.
Visitors will also get a chance to meet exhibitors during the Exhibitor Spotlight Hour, where companies showcase their products and services. The schedule features product demos, networking events, and the presentation of the Best Energy Stand Award by Vision Beauty Exhibition founder Maria Nepembe-Amunyela.
The exhibition aims to help entrepreneurs reach more customers, build business relationships and encourage the public to support local businesses.
