FC Twente have signed Belgian-Ghanaian defensive midfielder Jordy Bawuah from PSV U21 for 1m, bringing the 19-year-old into their Eredivisie squad.
Bawuah has joined the Enschede club on a contract running until 30 June 2029. The move, completed on 31 August 2026, takes him from the Keuken Kampioen Divisie to the Netherlands' top flight after he started all three of PSV U21's league matches this season.
The left-footed midfielder played the full 270 minutes available in those games, without scoring or registering an assist. He was also booked once during the campaign and completed each appearance in the starting XI.
Bawuah's move to Twente is the latest step in a development pathway that began in Belgium. He spent time in the youth system at KRC Genk before joining PSV's academy in July 2018.
He progressed through PSV's youth sides, moving from the club's youth team to PSV Under-17 in 2022, then to Under-18 in 2023. In July 2024, he stepped up to PSV U21, where he made three appearances in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie before switching clubs.
Listed as a defensive midfielder, Bawuah is 1.82m tall and holds Belgian and Ghanaian nationality. His recorded market value is 500,000, half the fee Twente paid to secure his transfer from PSV U21.
Twente's new signing arrives with experience of senior second-tier football despite his age, having played every minute of PSV U21's league campaign before the transfer. His arrival gives the club another option in midfield as they compete in the Eredivisie.
Bawuah's contract places him at Twente for the next three seasons, with the agreement extending through the end of June 2029. The Belgian-Ghanaian has therefore moved directly from PSV U21 to FC Twente in a 1m transfer.
