A 12-year old artist Beyani Mhango has collaborated with seasoned musician and former Musicians Union of Malawi (Mum) leader Bishop Reverend Chimwemwe Mhango in a track titled ‘Ndananga’.
The track carries the message of repentance and salvation.
Beyani’s mother and manager Sherly Mhango said Wednesday that the song which calls on people to turn away from sin and return to God is also a showcase of her son’s immense talent.
“Through the collaboration, we want to reach out to people with a message of repentance and salvation and encourage them to return to God,” she said.
Sherly said the family discovered Beyani’s musical talent in 2020, when he was six years old.
“The release of this song marks the beginning of more gospel music projects from my son,” she said.
Mhango said he discovered the young man’s talent on social media before later interacting with his family.
“He caught my attention with his talent and so, I did not hesitate to work with him when his family reached out. As someone, who studied music and also wants to help young people advance their talents, I am looking forward to mentor him,” Mhango said.
He said working with the young artist also rekindled memories of his time with Mhango Salvation Singers, when he used to perform with his siblings.
“Beyani needs exposure and I am happy with the response from people since the track was released,” Mhango said.
