Doris Ogala Remanded Pending Bail Hearing

Doris Ogala and Pastor Chris Okafor

Actress Doris Ogala was remanded at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre following her arraignment before a Federal High Court in Lagos on October 28, 2026, over allegations involving Pastor Chris Okafor, founder of Mountain of Liberation and Miracle Ministry.

The Office of the Attorney General of the Federation reportedly filed charges bordering on cyberstalking, cyberbullying and attempted extortion. Prosecutors alleged that Ogala published intimate photographs of Okafor without his consent, circulated electronic messages said to contain false information and threatened to release additional material unless he compensated her or bought her a house. The alleged offences were said to have occurred between September 2024 and March 2026.

Ogala pleaded not guilty to the charges, while her lawyer opposed the prosecution’s request for her remand and asked the court to grant her bail. Justice Akintayo Aluko ordered her remand after considering the arguments presented and directed an accelerated hearing of her bail application.

The case was adjourned until October 30, 2026, for the hearing of the bail application.

The dispute had attracted public attention before the court proceedings, with Ogala claiming that she had been involved with Okafor since 2017. The controversy intensified in December 2025 following reports of the cleric’s engagement to another woman.

Ogala subsequently accused prominent religious figures and Abia State Governor Alex Otti of being behind her remand. Her allegations have not been established by the court.

Blessing CEO Reportedly Released After 4 Months in Custody

Blessing CEO

Social media personality and relationship commentator Blessing CEO, whose real name is Blessing Nkiruka Okoro, reportedly regained her freedom on October 24, 2026, after spending approximately 4 months in custody. Actress Doris Ogala announced the development on social media, and reports about her release circulated on October 25 and 26.

Blessing CEO faced separate criminal cases involving alleged fraud and transactions connected to property and a cancer related fundraising campaign.

Alleged ₦69.15 Million Property Transaction

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission arraigned Blessing CEO before the Lagos State Special Offences Court in Ikeja on June 9, 2026, over an alleged ₦69.15 million transaction involving Hope Chiropractic Health Clinic Limited.

The prosecution alleged that she falsely represented a property at No. 1 Tunbosun Osobu Street, Lekki, as belonging to her and available for a 5 year lease. She pleaded not guilty and was granted bail of ₦20 million on July 23, subject to conditions that included 2 sureties and financial documentation.

During the trial on October 12, prosecution witness Dr Onuoha Okeigwe testified about the transaction, alleging that the property had been misrepresented. The court reportedly adjourned the case until October 26 for continuation of the trial.

Alleged ₦36 Million Fraud Case

Blessing CEO was also arraigned before the Federal High Court in Lagos on May 15, 2026, over an alleged ₦36 million transaction involving charges of obtaining money by false pretences and stealing.

During proceedings, her lawyer told the court that ₦24 million had been refunded to the complainant. Subsequent reports indicated that she obtained bail in connection with the case.

Alleged ₦13 Million Cancer Fundraising Fraud

Another case concerns approximately ₦13 million collected through a fundraising campaign linked to claims that Blessing CEO had cancer.

The EFCC alleged that she fraudulently obtained the money by misrepresenting her medical condition. The charges also included allegations concerning the falsification and use of a medical report purportedly issued by Xinus Medical Diagnostics.

Blessing CEO pleaded not guilty, and the Federal High Court ordered her remand in June, with proceedings scheduled for September 24.

Her reported release on October 24 came amid the separate cases, whose final outcomes have not been established.

Emeka Ike’s ₦10 Billion Lawsuit Dismissed

Emeka Ike and Wike’s aide, Lere Olayinka

Veteran Nollywood actor Emeka Ike suffered a legal setback on October 28, 2026, when a Federal High Court in Abuja dismissed his ₦10 billion lawsuit against Lere Olayinka, a senior aide to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, and the Independent National Electoral Commission.

Ike filed the suit over the alleged publication of his voter registration details on social media. The dispute arose after Olayinka allegedly shared information about the actor’s voter registration transfer on X in May 2026, following Ike’s unsuccessful bid for the Nigeria Democratic Congress House of Representatives ticket for the AMAC and Bwari Federal Constituency.

The actor argued that the disclosure violated his privacy and sought ₦10 billion in damages.

Justice Salim Ibrahim upheld objections concerning the competence and manner in which the suit had been filed. The court held that Ike had not sufficiently established the alleged violation of his constitutional right to privacy and reasoned that the dispute principally concerned data protection and involved contested facts requiring an appropriate legal procedure.

The court consequently dismissed the claim on October 28.

Tunde Ednut

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission arraigned 3 defendants before the Federal High Court in Abuja on October 15, 2026, over an alleged ₦18,264,700 fraud involving the impersonation of popular Nigerian blogger Tunde Ednut.
