Ghana U-15 Boys Edge Korea Republic To Reach FIFA World Cup Last 16

Ghana’s U-15 team

Ghana’s National U-15 Boys beat Korea Republic 2-1 in the Round of 32 to advance to the last 16 of the FIFA U-15 World Cup and Festival in Azerbaijan on Wednesday, October 28, 2026.

Abdul Aziz Issah was on target once again, continuing his fine scoring form at the tournament, while an own goal from the Korean defence proved decisive in sealing victory for the young Ghanaians.

Ghana came into the knockout stage as winners of Group W, having won all five of their group games, and they showed great character to get past a disciplined Korea Republic side.

The Koreans made life difficult for the Ghanaians with their organisation and discipline, but the team stayed composed and found a way to secure the result when it mattered.

The win stretches Ghana’s unbeaten run to six matches at the FIFA Talent Development Scheme tournament, and the team have now scored 29 goals so far in Azerbaijan.

That return underlines the attacking strength of a side that has combined firepower with resilience throughout the competition.

The result is another encouraging step for the young players, who continue to fly the nation’s flag with an impressive campaign on the global stage.

Ghana now await their opponents in the Round of 16 as they look to keep their run going in Azerbaijan.
