Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) says it will carry out urgent maintenance work on Saturday at its Katampe Substation in Abuja.
TCN managment said the maintenance at Katampe Substation was necessary to enable its technical crew to seal an oil leakage from a transformer at the 330/132/33 kilovolt substation.
The company disclosed this in a statement posted on its official X handle in Abuja on Saturday.
According to the company, the maintenance exercise is scheduled to commence at 10 am and end at 7 pm on Saturday.
It explained that some electricity circuits would be affected during the maintenance, resulting in temporary disruption of power supply to some areas.
TCN said the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) would be unable to off-take electricity from some feeders serving customers supplied by the affected transformer.
The company apologised to electricity consumers in the affected areas for any inconvenience the temporary interruption might cause. It appealed for their understanding while the maintenance work is being carried out.
