ZANU PF Secretary General Advocate Jacob Mudenda is today leading Politburo members on a tour of University of Zimbabwe innovation facilities to assess their contribution to industrialisation, import substitution and job creation under Education 5.0.
The delegation commenced its tour this morning at the UZ Industrial Incubation Centre in Msasa, Harare, where start-ups and student-led research concepts are being scaled into commercial enterprises.
The entourage is also scheduled to visit several other flagship projects established under the university ecosystem. These include the University of Zimbabwe Specialist Medical Centre, the Agro-Industrial Park, and agro-processing plants.
Accompanying Cde Mudenda are Secretary for Education, Ideology and Research Cde Charles Tawengwa, Secretary for Information and Publicity Cde Christopher Mutsvangwa, Secretary for War Veterans Affairs Cde Douglas Mahiya, Deputy Secretary for Security Cde Tendai Chirau, Secretary for Business Development Cde Eliphas Mashaba and Senator Dr James Makamba, among other senior party officials.
The tour comes as the ruling party reinforces its oversight and backing for the Education 5.0 policy – a heritage-based framework designed to transform tertiary institutions into engines of industrial growth, local manufacturing, and economic self-reliance.
