AFCON qualifiers: Ikpeba picks between Nwabali, Okoye

Former Nigeria international, Victor Ikpeba, has backed Stanley Nwabali over Maduka Okoye as the better goalkeeper for the Super Eagles.

Ikpeba made his preference known while discussing the goalkeeping options available to Nigeria ahead of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The former Monaco forward said Nwabali currently has the edge over Okoye, who also remains part of the national team setup.

Nwabali has been Nigeria’s first-choice goalkeeper in recent international fixtures, while Okoye has also featured for the Super Eagles.

Ikpeba’s comments come as Nigeria continue preparations for their upcoming AFCON qualifying matches.
