Not Kindiki: Danstan Omari Reveals Who Ruto Could Pick as His Running Mate in 2027, Explains Why

Lawyer Danstan Omari has sparked fresh political debate after predicting that Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka could become President William Ruto’s running mate in the 2027 General Election instead of Deputy President Kithure Kindiki.

Omari believes changing political alliances could bring Ruto and Kalonzo together ahead of the highly anticipated elections. He suggested that the two leaders could work under a broad political arrangement involving the ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA) and factions of the Azimio coalition.

Speaking during a political analysis on November 1, 2026, the lawyer argued that Kalonzo’s position within the opposition could determine his next political move.

According to Omari, the Wiper leader could consider joining Ruto’s camp if other opposition figures decide to sideline him in the race for the presidency.

He suggested that some opposition leaders could favor younger politicians, including Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, while considering possible political partnerships with former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua or Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro.

Omari argued that such an arrangement could leave Kalonzo with limited options, potentially pushing him towards an agreement with the president. The lawyer also pointed to the reception Kalonzo received during the launch of the Linda Mwananchi movement, where the Wiper leader was reportedly heckled by some attendees.

Omari said Kalonzo was unhappy with the treatment he received during the event, arguing that the incident showed he was not welcome in that political camp.

He suggested that this could influence the Wiper leader’s decision to consider alternative political alliances ahead of the 2027 elections.

Although Omari’s prediction has not been confirmed by either Ruto or Kalonzo, it raises questions about the possible alliances that could shape the next presidential contest.
