Jomoro MP provides ECG transformer to extend electricity to four communities

Residents of Tweakor 1, Tweakor 2, Navrongo and Bentilibo in the Jomoro Municipality of the Western Region are hopeful of gaining access to electricity following the provision of an Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) transformer by their Member of Parliament, Dorcas Affo-Toffey.

The intervention marks a step towards fulfilling the MP’s commitment to extending electricity supply to the four communities, where residents have been waiting for improved access to power.

Madam Affo-Toffey, who also serves as Deputy Minister for Transport, is expected to help address the electricity challenges facing the beneficiary communities through the provision of the transformer.

Access to electricity is expected to improve living conditions and support economic activities in the communities, particularly for small businesses and households.

The availability of power could also enhance learning activities for students and improve access to essential services, while creating opportunities for local businesses to expand their operations.

However, the commencement of electricity supply will depend on the completion of the necessary technical processes, installation works and connections by the relevant electricity authorities.

Residents are therefore expected to await the completion of the outstanding works before the transformer can translate into actual electricity supply to their communities.

The provision of the equipment is being viewed as an important step towards improving basic infrastructure and promoting development in Tweakor 1, Tweakor 2, Navrongo and Bentilibo.

For the beneficiary communities, the next priority is the timely completion of the remaining processes to enable households and businesses to enjoy the benefits of electricity.
