Big Blow for Ruto as Unexpected News Arrives from Western Kenya After Top UDA Leader Does This

Kimilili Member of Parliament Didmus Barasa has announced that he has withdrawn his political support for National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula, declaring that the veteran politician should retire from Bungoma politics.

Barasa’s remarks signal a political disagreement between the two leaders, who come from Bungoma County. His statement could spark further debate about the future of political leadership in the region as politicians position themselves ahead of the 2027 General Election.

In his declaration, Barasa made it clear that he no longer supports Wetang’ula politically. He also called on the Speaker to step away from Bungoma politics, suggesting that it was time for a change in the region’s leadership.

The outspoken legislator’s position is likely to attract attention among political leaders and residents of Bungoma, where Wetang’ula has maintained a significant presence in national and regional politics for years.

Wetang’ula has held several influential political positions during his career, including serving as Bungoma Senator and as a senior figure in Kenya’s political establishment. His current role as National Assembly Speaker places him among the country’s top legislative leaders.

Barasa’s statement introduces another point of discussion regarding the direction Bungoma politics could take in the coming years. With the next general election approaching, political alignments, disagreements and questions about leadership succession are expected to feature prominently in public debate.

Barasa’s declaration also comes amid growing political activity in Bungoma, where several leaders are positioning themselves for the 2027 elections. His decision to withdraw support for Wetang’ula could therefore become an important development in the county’s political discussions.

The unfolding situation will be closely watched as residents assess the competing ambitions of leaders seeking to shape Bungoma’s political future.

The statement has also raised questions about whether the disagreement will affect political cooperation between the two leaders as the election approaches.

For now, Barasa’s message is direct: he has withdrawn his support for Wetang’ula and believes the Speaker should retire from Bungoma politics.
