BREAKING: Tinubu Ends Working Vacation, Departs Paris for Lagos

President Bola Tinubu has concluded his working vacation in Europe and departed Paris, France, for Nigeria on Tuesday.

His aircraft is expected to land at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos later in the evening.

According to a statement by presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu chose to fly first to Lagos to honour the memory of Chief MKO Abiola, a key figure in Nigeria’s democratic struggle.

On Independence Day, October 1, the President will attend the premiere of a movie about Abiola at the Wole Soyinka National Theatre in Iganmu, Lagos.

While in Lagos, Tinubu is also scheduled to hold strategic meetings with political leaders and associates over several days ahead of the 2027 elections.

He is expected to return to Abuja after those engagements.Tinubu left Abuja on August 30 for the working vacation, spending about a week in London before travelling to Paris.

During his stay in the French capital, he held a private dinner with French President Emmanuel Macron and met business leaders, including Vincent Bolloré of the Bolloré Group (with interests in Canal+, MultiChoice and Universal Music Group).

On Monday, he also met billionaire Femi Otedola, chairman of First Holdings.Last week, the President witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ogun State Government and DP World for a Gateway deep seaport at Ogun Waterside and a Blue Marine Economic Zone.

The project is expected to involve an investment of about $7 billion.
