Justin Kodua Speaks On Talks Of A Reshuffle In Minority Leadership

According to a report by UTV Ghana today being Thursday, October 29, 2026, the General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Kodua Frimpong, has dismissed reports and speculation suggesting that the party intends to make changes to the leadership of its Minority Caucus in Parliament.

Kodua has maintained that there will be no reshuffle of the Minority leadership, indicating that the party has no immediate intention of replacing or restructuring the current parliamentary leadership team.

His comments come amid discussions about the possibility of leadership changes within the NPP’s parliamentary caucus, with political observers and party supporters paying attention to developments surrounding the party’s internal arrangements.

The Minority Caucus plays a significant role in Ghana’s Parliament, particularly in holding the government accountable, scrutinising proposed legislation and offering alternative perspectives on national policies.

Its leadership is responsible for coordinating parliamentary activities and ensuring that members effectively represent the party’s position on important issues.

The possibility of changes within the leadership has therefore generated interest, especially as the NPP continues to reorganise itself following its defeat in the 2024 general elections.

However, Kodua’s latest remarks suggest that the party is not considering an immediate restructuring of the parliamentary leadership. His position also provides clarification amid the conversations surrounding the future of the Minority Caucus.

The NPP, which is currently the main opposition party in Ghana, faces the task of strengthening its parliamentary presence while preparing for future electoral contests. Maintaining effective coordination between its parliamentary members and national executives is expected to remain important in achieving these objectives.

Although leadership arrangements within political parties can change depending on internal decisions and circumstances, Kodua has made it clear that no such changes are currently planned.

His statement is expected to put to rest, at least for now, speculation about an impending reshuffle of the NPP Minority leadership.
