Norman Mapeza’s Scottland future in doubt

Norman Mapeza’s future at Scottland FC is in major doubt following the club’s elimination from the CAF Champions League on Friday.

Mabviravira were knocked out of the competition after losing 3-0 to Petro de Luanda in Angola, surrendering their 2-0 advantage from the first leg to suffer a 3-2 aggregate defeat.

The result ended Scottland’s maiden Champions League campaign before the group stage, dealing a major blow to the club’s ambitions on the continental stage.

The club is understood to be considering Mapeza’s future following the disappointment, although no decision has been confirmed yet.

Scottland have also fallen behind in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League title race as they seek to defend their domestic crown.

The reigning champions are also out of the Chibuku Super Cup, leaving the Munhumutapa Challenge Cup as their only realistic remaining opportunity to secure silverware this season.
