Mash-West Investment Indaba opens doors for real estate player

THE ongoing two-day Mashonaland West Investment Conference at Pamuzinda Safaris in Selous, Chegutu, has created more opportunities for a local real estate company, Great Dyke Housing Estate, as the player aims to expand across parts of the province.

The company has already established the Great Dyke Smart City gated community project, situated between Chegutu and Kadoma towns.

The project has 6 000 housing units.

Speaking on the sidelines of the Indaba this morning, the company’s director, Dr Samuel Mudavanhu, said the conference had opened opportunities for the company, which is ready to support the Second Republic in nation-building efforts in line with Vision 2030.

The conference has drawn investors, businesspeople, local authorities, traditional leaders, and government officials.

“What we have learnt from this Indaba is that Mashonaland West is open for business. Mashonaland West offers many opportunities in mining, real estate, and manufacturing, so we’re gaining a lot from this experience,” he said, adding that they planned to replicate the Great Dyke Smart City project in other parts of the province.

“I think, as businesspeople, we are going to embrace this and ensure Mashonaland West becomes Mashonaland Best.”

Regarding the Great Dyke Smart City project, Dr Mudavanhu stated they had made significant progress in establishing around 6 000 houses.

“For your information, the project has come at a time when Kadoma is now one of the towns with the highest number of tertiary institutions,” he said.

“Kadoma is the only town in Mashonaland West with five university campuses, and the housing units will provide accommodation for students and staff.

“That means all business is moving to Kadoma, and many people are unaware of this. We are encouraging many businesspeople to come and invest in Kadoma.”
