The UK-Ghana Chamber of Commerce (UKGCC), in partnership with the UK-Ghana Jobs and Economic Transformation (JET) Programme, has launched a Trade Resource Centre to help businesses navigate export requirements, access new markets and build commercial partnerships.

The Centre is designed to bridge information gaps and help businesses in both countries identify trade opportunities and take greater advantage of the UK-Ghana Trade Partnership Agreement (TPA).

Its launch was a major outcome of the three-day UK-Ghana Trade and Investment Summit 2026, held under the theme: “A Decade of Trust, A Future Always On: Scaling the UK-Ghana Growth Partnership.”

Speaking at the launch, the Executive Director of UKGCC, Adjoba Kyiamah, said the Centre would provide practical support to businesses seeking to trade between the two countries.

“The Trade Resource Centre represents our commitment to moving beyond conversations about trade and providing businesses with practical support to succeed. Whether a Ghanaian exporter is looking to access the UK market or a UK company is seeking opportunities in Ghana, the Centre will provide the guidance, connections, and market intelligence needed,” she said.

The Centre will operate as a core function of UKGCC, offering guidance, market intelligence, business linkages and trade facilitation services.

The Team Lead of the UK-Ghana JET Programme, Eugene Sangmortey, said the initiative aligned with efforts to strengthen trade competitiveness and private-sector growth.

“The UK remains an important trade partner for Ghana; leveraging the TPA to deepen access to the UK market for Ghanaian manufacturers and exporters is crucial to business growth, trade diversification, job creation and economic transformation,” he said.

Mr. Sangmortey said the Centre would help exporters overcome information barriers, improve their export readiness and connect with viable business opportunities to drive growth and create jobs.

He added that the JET Programme, through technical assistance, had supported the government in approving industrial policy frameworks for automotive components manufacturing, textiles and garments, and pharmaceuticals.

The frameworks, he said, were expected to strengthen Ghana’s manufacturing ecosystem and attract investment.

The launch marks another effort to translate the UK-Ghana Growth Partnership into tangible commercial opportunities for businesses in both countries.
