Clover rewards three lucky customers with Letsile getaway

Three Batswana consumers turned everyday shopping into an extraordinary experience after winning Clover Botswana’s 2026 Buy & Win Campaign, culminating in a weekend getaway with Olympic gold medallist Letsile Tebogo at Big Valley Lodge in Lobatse recently.

The winners 51-year-old school teacher Matshidiso Seloiso from Lekgolobotlo, pensioner Patronella Chiepe from Nshazhogwe and 25-year-old waiter Phenyo Sebopilwe from Block 8, Gaborone were treated to a weekend of adventure, relaxation and personal interaction with the celebrated sprinter. The experience marked the conclusion of a four-month nationwide campaign that attracted close to 5,000 entries from consumers across Botswana.

For Clover Botswana, the initiative was an opportunity to reward loyal customers and strengthen its relationship with consumers. For the three winners, it offered something beyond the usual competition prize: an opportunity to create lasting memories while spending time with one of the country’s most celebrated sporting figures. The programme combined outdoor adventure with leisure and wellness activities, including a game drive, zip lining, kayaking, paintball, massage sessions and quad biking. The experience also featured a special bush dinner, giving the winners time to unwind, share stories and celebrate their good fortune.

REWARDING THE PEOPLE BEHIND THE BRAND

Clover Botswana Trade Marketer Warona Sekhuthe said the campaign was designed to go beyond giving away prizes, focusing instead on showing appreciation to the consumers who continue to support the brand.

“The Buy & Win Campaign was always about more than winning a prize. It was about celebrating our consumers and showing our appreciation for choosing Clover,” Sekhuthe said. She expressed gratitude to everyone who participated, noting that every purchase, entry and interaction contributed to the brand’s story in Botswana. “This experience was our opportunity to give something back and to celebrate the people who make our brand what it is,” she said.

The winners’ excursion brought that message to life, transforming a promotional campaign into a shared experience that allowed the brand to engage directly with its consumers. The excitement was heightened by the presence of Tebogo, whose achievements on the track have made him a prominent figure in Botswana sport. For the winners, meeting the Olympic champion and spending time with him offered a rare opportunity to interact with a national sporting star away from the competitive arena.

TEB0GO CONNECTS WITH CONSUMERS

Tebogo’s involvement was central to the experience, bringing Clover Botswana’s brand ambassador closer to the consumers who support the company’s products. Rather than featuring only in advertisements and promotional material, the sprinter became part of the weekend itself, sharing activities and conversations with the three winners.

“It was really special to spend time with the winners and get to know them. I wish we could do this often,” Tebogo said. “These are the people who support Clover, so being able to share this experience with them and create memories together was something I was honored to experience.”

His participation added a personal dimension to the campaign, creating an opportunity for consumers to connect with a sporting personality whose success has made him a source of national pride. The experience also allowed the winners to get to know one another, with the activities and shared meals providing opportunities to build connections beyond their individual stories as competition entrants.

FROM PURCHASES TO LASTING MEMORIES

The 2026 Buy & Win Campaign formed part of Clover Botswana’s wider efforts to engage consumers through initiatives that combine brand awareness with rewarding experiences. Its nationwide reach and close to 5,000 entries reflected the participation generated during the four-month promotion. The campaign invited consumers to purchase Clover products and enter for a chance to win the exclusive getaway with Tebogo.

But its conclusion was about more than announcing the successful entrants. The weekend at Big Valley Lodge gave the three winners an opportunity to experience the brand in a different setting, away from the shelves and everyday routines where their participation began.

From outdoor activities and moments of relaxation to conversations with Tebogo and a special bush dinner, the excursion was designed around connection, appreciation and celebration. For Seloiso, Chiepe and Sebopilwe, the journey began with a purchase and an entry into the competition. It ended with a weekend of new experiences, new connections and memories they can carry long after the campaign has closed.
