All Blacks last-gasp penalty sinks Kotoko

Wiafe Darkwah converted a dramatic 95th-minute penalty to hand Swedru All Blacks a vital 1-0 victory over Asante Kotoko in the Premier League on Saturday, sending the home crowd into raptures at the Swedru Sports Stadium.

With the contest seemingly destined for a goalless draw, left-back Patrick Asiedu fouled Baah Junior inside the penalty area, giving the hosts a golden opportunity to snatch all three points in the dying moments.

Darkwah kept his composure from the spot, beating goalkeeper Dari Aziz to seal a crucial victory for All Blacks and leave Kotoko frustrated after a fiercely contested encounter.

The victory marks Swedru All Blacks’ second win in their opening six matches of the 2026/27 season, providing a timely boost to their campaign.

Despite the defeat, Kotoko remain level on points with All Blacks in the Ghana Premier League standings, leaving both sides looking to build momentum in their upcoming fixtures.

The Swedru Sports Stadium erupted with excitement as a massive crowd turned out to cheer on both sides, creating an electrifying atmosphere and delivering one of the biggest attendances of the 2026/27 season.
